I have been playing music from 7yrs old and completed all my Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) Grades in Piano and Theory & Musicianship to University entry. I completed my Bachelor of Music at the University of Adelaide in 1997, majoring in Composition and Pianoforte and have also trained in Harp, Percussion, Voice, Song writing, Music Ministry and Theory.
I have a Graduate Diploma in Education and am qualified with the TRBSA & BOSTES and can teach Music K-12 to Adult. I am a Full Member of the Music Teachers Association of NSW & SA accredited to teach Pianoforte, Theory and Composition. I love songwriting and have won several awards including ‘Young Composer of the Year’. I am also a member of APRA/AMCOS.
I have been performing music for over 20 years in mainly Adelaide and Sydney. I am a former Director of the Australian College of Entertainment (ACE) and ACE Artist Management in Sydney and have taught and recorded with students appearing on Australian Idol and performing around the world. I have toured overseas playing music throughout Europe and the UK. I have experience performing, writing, directing and producing musicals. such as “Heaven Sent” 2007. I also have studio experience accompanying and recording with musicians, vocalists and bands such as the SCALA awards. I have been a Music Director and Worship leader for several church and Youth organisations, songwriting and directing bands and choirs. I love to play healing music on my Harp in hospitals, services and for individuals by appointment. I am involved in many community groups and charities and love to support fundraising events. I have been teaching music privately and in schools for over 20 years in both Adelaide and Sydney. I am a qualified and registered school teacher (Pre-school – Yr12). I am excellent with devising and teaching children’s music and creative arts programs and have taught in the NSW Public & Private School System (Primary and High School). I welcome students who want to learn music for fun as well as those who are committed to really achieving something with their music. I enjoy seeing continual growth of not just the musician but the individual. Students may sit for their AMEB Exams or just learn for enjoyment. In my classes we explore the world of music by listening, learning, reading, creating, improvising, sharing, communicating, writing, singing, practicing and playing music. All ages are welcome and all styles of music are explored. Topics include: Piano, Keyboard, Harp, Voice, Guitar, Percussion/Drums, Theory, Musicianship, Aural, Songwriting, Composition, Music Technology, Music History, Church Music, Popular Music Studies in both group and private settings and Workshops. I recently completed a ‘Musicians in Hospitals’ training program with UK Music Therapy and healthcare professionals, funded through Arts Out West and Lachlan Health services and am invited to play regularly to patients in Hospital and various healthcare settings.
Additionally I am an ambassador for Destiny Rescue and the Thank you brand and my not for profit charitable organisation the #LOVE40Foundation exists to create, collect and distribute funds to various charitable organisations, be a voice and empower women across the globe. We are currently fundraising for a rescue home through our #loveheartoftheday campaign.
